Blocking drafts and cold air from getting into your home is the first place to start. Replacing windows is a big expense but will save you thousands in heating bills over their lifetime. Adding heavier curtains to windows is an easy way to keep the heat in. Opening the curtains to capture the sun during the day and shutting them at night is something our grandmothers did. And it still works today.
